Hadith on Belief/Faith

Faith: To believe in (a) Allah; (b) His(Allah’s) Angels; (c) His Messengers (d) His Books like Tohrah, Gospel and Quran etc (e) The Day of Resurrection and (f) Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments) .Faith has more than sixty subdivisions or parts, the highest one is ‘La ilaha illala (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and the lowest one is to remove harmful things from the ways,roads, passages etc.

Narrated Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri R.A.A: Allah’s Messenger S.A.S said, “While i was sleeping i saw (in a dream) that some people were displayed before me wearing shirts, of which some were reaching upto heir breasts only, while others were even shorter than that. And Umar bin Al-Khattab was displayed before me wearing a (long) shirt which he was dragging.” The people asked, “How do you interpret this? O Allah’s Messenger” He (prophet S.A.S) replied, “It is the religion”.

Narrated Anas R.A.A: The prophet S.A.S said, “None of you will have faith till he likes for his (Muslim) brother what he likes for himself.”

Narrated Abu Hurairah R.A.A: “Allah’s Messenger S.A.S said, By Him in whose hands my life is, none of you will have faith ill he loves me more than his father and his children.”

Narrated Abu Musa R.A.A: Some of the people asked Prophet S.A.S, ‘Whose islam is the best(i.e who is a good muslim) ?” He replied, ‘One who avoids harming the Muslims with his tongue and hands.’

Narrated Al-Ahnaf bin Qais: While i was going to help with man (Ali bin Abi Talib R.A.A, while he was fighting with someone), Abu Bakr R.A.A met me and asked, ‘Where are you going’ ? I replied, ‘I am going to help that person’. He said, ‘ Go back for i have heard prophet S.A.S saying, ‘When two muslims fight each other with their swords, both the murderer as well as the murdered will go to Hell-Fire’. I said, ‘O Allah’s Messenger! It is alright for the murderer but what about the murdered one?’ Allah’s Messenger S.A.S replied, ‘He surely had the intention to kill his companion too.’

Narrated Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri R.A.A: Allah’s Messenger S.A.S said, “If a person embraces Islam sincerely , then Allah shall forgive all his past sins, and after that starts the settlement of accounts, the reward of his good deeds will be ten times to seven hundred times for each good deed and an evil deed will be recorded as it is unless Allah forgives it.’ (This implies to every Muslim being)

Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah said, “That which is between the two blowings is forty”. Someone asked, ‘Is it forty days, O Abu Hurayrah?’ But he refused to reply, saying,’No comment’. Then they asked, ‘Is it forty months?’ but He refused to reply,saying, ‘No comment’. They asked again, ‘Is it forty years?’ He replied the same as earlier. Abu Hurayrah added: ‘Then the prophet S.A.S went on to say, ” Then Allah will send down a rain from the sky and the dead will sprout just as a green plant sprouts. Every part of the last person will deteriorate except for one bone, and it is the coccyx bone/tailbone. From it the creation will be assembled on the Day of Judgement”.

Why Am I Sad ???

Looking out of my window today; a cloudy day made me sad. Its always the gloomy days which spoils my mood. When it isnt sunny, I refuse to wake up early (as i always do) and want to cover myself with a blanket and go back to sleep. Gloomy days arent my days ,I guess. Even the birds dont seem to like the weather and rather spend the day in their nests instead of chirping happily on a tree near my window.

Such days makes me unhappy, Makes me remind all those mistakes i have done, the misfortunes i have had, the shortcoming i live with. I wonder if thats what every Human feels or just me… ??? All i want to do is sit and cry. And i do sometimes, but otherwise it takes every ounce of my energy to hold myself from breaking. Why is it that I am too engrossed in seing my faults that i seldom see the brighter side? (Picture Source)

Gosh! How much i hate these days !!!! I dont know how many such days lie ahead of me, How many more times is it gonna make me depressed, But i do know one thing, That just like there is a bright day after a gloomy day, I have my cheerful moments too. That is what makes me appreciate happiness. Because I was sad someday, I laugh whole heartily when i do, I enjoy life, when life gives me a chance too. I would still wish and Pray that this habit of mine, of getting sad on every gloomy day changes, but I would never want the sense of appreciation to leave me. If this is the price i have to pay to appreciate what Allah gave me, I am okay with that …

You dont think I am weird, Do you ??? I am just different, But weird I hope not …

Between Friends

Have we ever imagined that a story can ever be told only through letters and Journals ? Have we come across such a book where a beautiful tale of two friends is woven through the letters they share and their journals ? Well! I have. I read this book long back and forgot its name. After a lot of research i found its name and here i am writing about it.

This book ‘Between Friends’ by Debbie Macomber tells us a remarkable story said in a remarkable way. When i first got this book, I wasnt sure it would make any sense to me at all, but i am glad i brought it home and read it. This book is very special to me, because of its story as well as for the way it is said.

This is about two High School friends - ‘Jillian Lawton’ and ‘Lesley Adamski’. Their mistakes, circumstances and their destiny takes them far from each other. And they exchange letters which takes ahead the story. Lesley marries her boyfriend(who rapes her) and has three kids, Caught in her cramped life, fighting with poverty she struggles to survive, whereas Jillian finishes her degree and falls in love with Nick, who dies in a war, leaving her totally devastated. Both of them while nursing their wounds, help each other pass this phase of their lives and finally their destiny meets them with a smile.

BETWEEN FRIENDS is an insightful look at five decades of America through the eyes of two friends living totally different lifestyles as the country goes about its changing business. This book highlights the importance of Friendship between people no matter what situation you are in. I loved this book, and the way it is narrated is absolutely Brilliant. Anyone who read it ?
